About Pickfolio

A small, independent publication that turns product questions into clear, source-based answers.

Pickfolio exists for one moment: you're about to buy a kitchen tool, and you want to know whether it fits your kitchen — not whether it went viral.

What we publish

  • Guides that answer a real buying or how-to question, short answer first.
  • Comparisons that lay out the trade-offs between two ways of doing the same job.
  • Product notes that summarize what a maker documents about a specific product, who it suits, and its limits.

Every page lists its sources and the date we checked them. If we can't find a primary source for a claim, the claim doesn't go on the page.

Who we are

Pickfolio is run by a small independent team. We are not chefs, engineers or a testing lab, and we don't pretend to be. Our guides are built from maker documentation, manuals and public guidance such as USDA food-safety pages. Research and drafting are AI-assisted; every factual claim is matched to a source before a page goes live. Pages are signed Pickfolio Editorial because that is who stands behind them.

Our videos

We run short-video channels for each category — for kitchen, that's The Kitchen Edit on Instagram and Facebook. Those videos are short edits: brief clips from manufacturer and cooking videos, with an AI-generated voice-over and on-screen graphics. They show how a tool is meant to be used. They are not our own tests and not evidence that a product works, and we label them that way here.

How we make money

Right now, we don't. There are no ads, no sponsored posts and no affiliate links on this site yet. If that changes, we'll say so on every page where it applies — see our affiliate disclosure.
