Editorial policy
The rules every Pickfolio page has to pass before it is published — and what we will never do.
Our standard
A Pickfolio page should help you make a better decision even if it has no shopping link at all. If a page doesn't do that, it doesn't get published.
What every page must have
- A short answer near the top, written for a real question.
- Who the product or method suits — and who it doesn't.
- Something you can use on your own: a checklist, a decision table or a step-by-step method.
- Sources for every factual claim, with the date we checked each one.
- A clear label for the kind of page it is (guide, comparison, product notes) and its evidence level.
Our publishing system checks these automatically. A page that fails any check is held back.
What we never do
- No invented experience. We don't say we tested or used a product unless a real, documented test exists. Today, none of our pages are hands-on reviews.
- No prices, star ratings or review counts. They change constantly and we don't have a reliable, licensed way to show them.
- No fake urgency. No "only a few left", no countdowns.
- No fake people. No invented experts, reviewers or customer photos.
- No videos passed off as proof. Our short videos use AI voice-over and clips from other sources; we label them as illustrations, never as our own tests.
- No paid placements. Brands can't buy a spot, see a page before it's published, or change what it says.
- No mass-produced pages. We don't publish near-identical pages that only swap a product name.
Safety topics
Some kitchen topics touch on food safety, hot oil, blades or electricity. On those, we follow official guidance (for example USDA and FoodSafety.gov) and link to it. When the right answer is "follow the manufacturer's manual", we say so.
Corrections and updates
Each page shows the date it was last fact-checked. We re-check sources when we update a page. To report an error, email hello@pickfolio.top — we'll correct it and change the date.
Independence
No brand has paid for, sponsored or reviewed any page on this site. See our affiliate disclosure for how this would be shown if that ever changes.
